Jen Herman

Violist Jen Herman began her studies on the viola at the age of eight and since then, she has toured in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa as a member of various orchestras. Ms. Herman was principal violist and fellowship recipiant of the New York Youth Symphony for three years, principal violist of Boston University's Tanglewood Institute Orchestra, violist in the New Operafestival di Roma, and most recently, a violist of the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra, where they toured to Korea this past summer. Along with Ms. Herman's orchestral experience, she is also an avid chamber musician. As part of the New York Youth's Symphony Chamber Program, Ms. Herman's string quartet performed in Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall with Daniel Phillips, where their performance was featured on WQXR's "Young Artists Showcase". As a sophomore, Ms. Herman was also a finalist in the 2006 Mannes Concerto Competition. Jen Herman is currently a senior at the Mannes College of Music where she is a student of Daniel Panner.
